Like father, like son. Just as Jim Dehoney’s father was his role model and mentor, Jim has aimed to create a mentoring relationship with every member of his own handpicked team. Hence, as DFG’s founder he is building a next-generation management team to take the company into the future. With that in mind, Senior Leadership Team members hold meaningful equity stakes in the company.

Jim’s philosophy is ingrained in Dehoney Financial Group’s approach to business; professional behavior, self-discipline, innovative problem solving, and impactful customer solutions. Creating the right outcome for each and every customer is the DFG way.

Sometimes life takes you on a track that you never expected or planned, but you end up where you need to be.

As Debbie tells it, she fell into insurance when her intent was to become a schoolteacher. She discovered the importance of insurance while working as a claims administrator for Sun Life and Manulife. She then had the good fortune to meet Jim Dehoney and thought, with teaching still in her plans, “Now this is a man I could work with” because he “truly cares about his customers and their employees.”

The same impulse that hinted at a possible teaching career - caring, mentoring and the satisfaction of seeing people succeed - she recognized in the relatively new Dehoney Financial Group.

Dave Pundick has never met Bill Rogers, but they share the same passion for running, emphasis on partnerships and agree that every day is a good day when you run.

When he’s not out for an invigorating run Dave manages Dehoney Financial Group’s Pension & Investment branch with the same passion he brings to running. He oversees group and individual retirement plans for DFG customers who appreciate his team’s hands-on approach to understanding their goals and retirement expectations.

Jackie is a bright and charismatic leader with a passion for people and business. In her role as VP Finance, Jackie is responsible for the oversight of Finance, Accounting & Admin, IT and HR at DFG and is a valuable member of the firm’s Senior and Executive Leadership Teams. She holds a CA designation and a Bachelor of Commerce.

Jackie’s outgoing nature, love of all things creative and keen interest in people make her a truly unique CA. She has a knack for connecting DFG numbers to the needs of DFG clients and employees. Jackie thrives on strategic thinking and inspiring team work to bring strategies to life.

Heroes and heroines are all around us. For Erin two such examples are her parents. Erin’s mom and dad found themselves in the middle of ‘the troubles’ in Belfast, Northern Ireland and made a life-changing decision: go to Canada for peace, tolerance and civility. Calgary was their oasis and that’s where Erin and her brother were born and raised.

After earning her Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary’s Haskayne School of Business Erin plunged into the world of life insurance. She spent nine years with Great-West Life, rose to the position of Regional Manager of Living Benefits and she and her team won the 2007 ‘Award of Distinction’ as Best General Performance of a Living Benefits Department (Division A). From 2007 to 2009 she served as a member of the ‘Living Benefits Advisory Council’.

That’s where Dave Piccione comes in, as Dehoney Financial Group’s Manager of Information Systems. His job is to develop systems that are fast, cost-effective and custom-designed to fit each customer. Identifying weaknesses in company hardware, software, data and procedures, while at the same time supporting new product offerings is crucial to the overall success of the firm.
